NEW!!! CardioMMA & KickBox Fitness
8/30/2010
We will be offering a new class two days a week come Sept. 10th. The new class will be called Cardio MMA & KickBox Fitness! This will be a co-ed class and will be a combination of classic kickbox fitness (cardio/aerobic) mixed with some modified BJJ/MMA drills. Students will wear MMA style gloves, hit real bags, to the rhythm of some upbeat music. Guaranteed to be one heck of a workout with 10 rounds and a timer bell. If interested, contact us for more information at contact@columbiabjj.com or call 443-864-8505.

Women's Self-Defense Seminars

Request Class Info

*(To schedule a rape prevention and self-defense seminar for your workplace, group of friends, acquaintances, etc. or for more information about our programs, please call me at (cell) 443-864-8505 or e-mail us at contact@columbiabjj.com for more information about setting up a rape prevention/women's self-defense seminar.)

The first and foremost thing that we teach women in our women's rape-prevention and self-defense seminar is AWARENESS. We teach women how to look for, spot and avoid trouble before it ever has a chance to take shape. Knowing these things IS 95% of self-defense and rape prevention.

For the other 5% of the cases, we teach women the most efficient, most effective methods of self-defense that are easiest to learn and remember. We do not teach women some 1,000 year old kata, horse stances, or reverse punch. The techniques that we teach in this course have been carefully selected. These techniques are based off of F.B.I. statistics on rape and real-life law enforcement rape cases. These techniques rely of leverage instead of strenght and are the most effective when confronted with a much larger and stronger attacker.

The cost of our rape prevention and self-defense seminar for women is $50 per person in attendance and we require everyone to pre-pay at least 2 weeks in advance of the seminar. Any woman from any walk of life may attend and you don't have to be in great shape to benefit from our course. The seminar is 3 hours long with a 15 minute break at the half-way point. We require a minimum of 10 women to sign up for and pre-pay for the seminar to take place.

We also offer a rape-prevention and self-defense course that can last either 4, 6, or 8 weeks (that's one day a week, usually a sat. or sun., for 3 hours each session, depending on the needs of the group). The longer the course the more you learn and retain.

For a 4 week course (4 hours of training), the cost is $150 per person. For a 6 week course (6 hours of training) the cost is $175 per person. For an 8 week course (8 hours of training) the cost is $200 a person.
